CELEBRITY endorsements are crucial and influential in US Presidential elections.

President Barack Obama’s supporters include Bruce Springsteen, Katy Perry, George Clooney, Beyoncé and husband Jay-Z, Scarlett Johansson, right, and Eva Longoria.

George Clooney, above, has been an Obama supporter since 2006 and says that the President is “the most charismatic person I’ve been in a room with for a long time”.

He helped raised $15 million for Obama’s election campaign by hosting a black tie dinner at his home with guests including Salma Hayek, Billy Crystal and Barbra Streisand.

Helping to reach the younger demographic is pop star Katy Perry, who recently performed at a fundraising concert called “30 days to victory.”

She has also shown her support in the latest Hollywood trend of a flashy manicure, left, that includes pictures of the President himself.

The concert also had performances by Jennifer Hudson, Stevie Wonder and Bon Jovi.

Other less visible Obama supporters include Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, who have attended functions at the White House.

Although Obama has gained a lot of celebrity endorsements some of his previous supporters have switched their votes.

Lindsey Lohan, a previous Obama supporter has just announced her support for Mitt Romney because of his stance on unemployment.

“I just think employment is really important right now. So, as of now, Mitt Romney. As of now.”

Kiss singer Gene Simmons and former model Cindy Crawford have also changed parties, from Obama in 2008 to Republican candidate Romney this time.

Other Romney supporters are Clint Eastwood, Kelsey Grammar, musicians Kid Rock and Lee Greenwood, and comedians Dennis Miller and Jeff Foxworthy.

Clint Eastwood (right) hit headlines when he spoke at the Republican national convention in August directing his dissatisfaction to an empty chair representing Obama.

“It may be time for someone else to come along and solve the problem,” Clint Eastwood said.

In opposition to his daughter’s views, Angelina Jolie’s father Jon Voight is a vocal Republican supporter speaking at many conventions and rallies.

Kid Rock has publicly endorsed Romney in his home state of Michigan and given his song “Born Free” to be the official campaign song.

Donald Trump has endorsed the Republican campaign with money, tweets and appearances.

However, not all of Romeny’s supporters are helping his campaign.

Meatloaf (left) recently appeared with Romney at a campaign event doing what critics called a great injustise to both Romney and the Star Spangled Banner.
